Who Can Play
Eligibility, age groups, and what to bring to the 2026 Jamboree.
Eligibility
Age requirement
Open to players aged 7 to 11 years old — born between 2013 and 2017. The Jamboree is designed to be inclusive across all skill levels within this age range.
IHA membership
All participating players must be registered Ice Hockey Australia (IHA) members at the time of the event. If your child isn't yet a member, join through IHA before registering.
Individual registration
Players register individually, not as part of a club or team. Teams are formed on arrival by the coaching staff to balance skill levels and ensure every player gets the most out of the camp.
Coaches
Coaches can also register to participate in the Jamboree — it is a development opportunity for coaches as well as players, aligned with IHA's coaching pathways.
What to Expect
Skills-first coaching
Sessions are structured around the IHA Player Development Framework — skating fundamentals, puck handling, passing, shooting, and positional play.
Competitive but supportive
Players are grouped fairly and games are played in a fun, encouraging environment. This is about development, not elite selection.
Multiple sessions per day
Expect on-ice time every day across the four days, with a mix of drills, small-area games, and full game situations.
National experience
Players come from across Australia, making this a great way to meet peers, build friendships, and experience the national ice hockey community.
